Just a travel diary …
- Tuna Tartar plate: It was a warmer day, so I decided to go for raw tuna. It was so unexpectedly presented with sesame all around the rim. Must be the sign for Asian touch✨ Sauteed shredded veggies (“Wok de légumes”) also had some soy sauce flavor to it – while the mashed potato was just authentic western style with nice butter flavor- overall it was a very nice fusion.
- Visit to the exhibit of Mark Rothko, at Retrospective Fondation Louis Vuitton. First time to visit, I was always keen to feel the beautiful architect by Frank Gehry. And it was amazing!! The weather was a bit rainy & cloudy, but pleasant light filled the museum through the glass walls. And the wonderful deck – I felt like on a glass ship.
As for the exhibit, I was surprised that they focused exclusively for an artist when the museum has such space (ah, and some of Giacometti’s sculptures).
It was a wonderful opportunity to intensively learn about the artist and how his art evolved over time.
“I would like to say to those who think of my pictures as serene, …. , I have imprisoned the most utter violence in every inch of their surface.”
If it wasn’t for the exhibit, I probably never would have discovered the emotion his paintings would have had.

・カツオのタルタル、お魚の色味はちょっと日本と比べると、、ですが、たっぷりの胡麻＆お酢の効いたちょっとアジアンなドレッシングをまとって、大変美味しいサラダでした。
付け合わせのマッシュポテトはとてもなめらか、バターの香り＆塩加減が絶妙で、サラダ野菜と和えたりしながらぺろっとなくなってしまいました。
・フォンダシオン ルイ・ヴィトン。ブローニュの森にあり、建築家フランク・ゲーリーがガラスをメインにデザインした美術館。
地下1階広場～地上4階。雨＆重めの空ではありましたが、心地よい光に包まれる館内、船のデッキを思わせる開放的なテラス、わりとワイルドな水流が印象的だった滝の階段。。。全ての空間が素敵でした。
展示としては、今回は、抽象表現主義を代表する画家のひとり（であり、カラー・フィールド・ペインティングの先駆者）マークロスコの企画展でした。
なんとなく名前は聞いたことがあり、作品も見たことはあるけれど、、、くらいの存在だったのですが、4フロアにわたって、初期の具象絵画から晩年の抽象画までの約115点の作品・変遷を辿っていくと、その奥深さにすっかり惹かれてしまいました。
