Paris trip reflection, on fancy beautiful eats & Musée d’Orsay✨
Pic 1: OMG Cauliflower with curry. I have never tasted such fine textured cauliflower. Was it roasted, deep fried, or? The flowers were so crisp, with oil but not too oily. The bed of curry flavored potato was another wow✨
Pic2&3: Plat- fish of the day. So simple, and so delicious. I love how they are presented… I think the topping tomato & red onions were uncooked, with crunchier texture. Overall lighter dish – with fresh and clear flavor✨
Pic 4&5: Entrée- Poireaux mimosa: Soft leek topped with mimosa & fried shredded leeks (or onions?)- so nice…! I would like to try mimosa in my kitchen too!!
Pic 6-7: In the same meal as Pic1. “Tataki de saumon, aji Amarillo chou blanc”. Which was the most interesting serving I had in Paris this time. Not much surprise for salmon- but for the cabbage!! It seemed like a bowl of coleslaw without mayo – but when I scooped some out, I noticed rice below! The cabbage was flavored in sweet vinegar, and the rice was non-flavored. In a way, sushi rice is prepared with sweet vinegar… so it’s just opposite. Somehow this gave me such an inspiration!! Must try something in my kitchen.
Pic 8-10: Musée d’Orsay- I must say this museum is all about its beauty as once-a-railway-station… because I do not really like the lighting of each rooms where they exhibit their most beautiful paintings (maybe to protect them from light?). I did not have the chance to visit, but the restaurant (there are several) too seemed so beautiful, with their staffs so full of energy – in the morning.
