Perhaps, the best Eggs Benedict I had in life – apparently in Paris
At Cuppa Café Paris.
The other day when I met Sayaka-san (@biphase_kitchen ), she recommended me with some of the most wonderful venues in Paris- including this cafe.

I had a thing about these egg goodness ever since I saw the film of Sofia Coppola, “Somewhere”.
I tried one of the best ones in Tokyo- and after a several, I was done.
But since I trusted Sayaka-san’s curation, and it was a good enough interval to try it again- I did… and wow!!!
I think the point would be the brioche & homemade Hollandaise Sauce & the perfect eggs… it was just an art itself.
Today’s Art Stop at – Musée Picasso Paris
I question recently- with all the wonderful printing technologies – what’s the point in traveling to see the original paintings /sculptures?
And this place, smaller museum in Paris – reassured me again (along with Musée de l’Orangerie).
I feel backed up with an answer at Musée Picasso Paris: this place, this atmosphere! It all makes the experience.
I think it’s the same as coming and feeling actual Paris… there’s more you can see and feel than on your screens – or places that resembles.
This time, it was unfortunate because it was in the transition period between exhibits they had smaller space, but nevertheless – so wonderful.

最高なエッグスベネディクト。
以前、ソフィアコッポラ監督のSOMEWHEREを観て、世界観＆エルファニングの美しさ相まって、洋風モーニングのイメージが一新されました。
エッグスベネディクト！！アメリカ西海岸のイージーな気分の週末ご飯なんでしょうか。
それ以降、都内のエッグスベネディクト巡礼をしたことがあったのですが、いまいち刺さらず数回で打ち切ってしまいました。
そんななか、パリ在住の素敵な方のお勧めを頂き、久々にエッグスベネディクトを頂いてみました。
案の定、最高。。。！！！こんなにおいしかったのか～～～！！！と開眼でした。まさかパリででアウトは。
パン生地はリッチなブリオッシュ（マフィンだと話が変わってきちゃいます）、とろとろなオランデーズソース、完璧すぎるとろとろたまご。
開店と同時に伺い、”キッチンが温まるまで（？）、45分くらいお待ちいただけますか？”という会話もあったのですが、その価値がありすぎました。

プリント技術がどんどん進んで、NFT鳴門美術館（未訪問ですが）やシンガポールでもゴッホ展等あり、そうするとオリジナルを観ることの意味ってなんなんだろう、と少し味気なさを感じることあった今日この頃。
東京に住んでいた頃は美術館巡りが週末のお楽しみでしたが、思えばシンガポールでは大分アートと遠ざかっていました。
今回、パリのいろいろな美術館を巡りつつ、大好きなピカソ美術館を訪れて思ったこと。
作品自体、もちろんオリジナルに宿るものはあると信じているのですが、それ以上に、ミュージアムの空間・光であったり、そこで過ごす人たちの様子、そこまでに至る道中、そこで過ごして感じた光や時間の思い出が、作品とのコネクションを特別にしてくれるのかな、と。
改めて、パリは感性を豊かにしてくれる場所だと感じます。
