Seasonal salad featuring strawberries, sashimi (raw) scallops, and Japanese herbs… with delicious wasabi & EVOO dressing✨
Eating local & fresh & seasonal! is always my motto✨
Quick idea…
- Grill rooted veggies: turnip & lotus roots
- Chop the rest: Strawberries, scallops, Japanese herbs (Mitsuba, Myoga), watercress, shred Yuzu (Japanese citrus)
- Dressing: very simply… mix EVOO & wasabi & soy sauce, S&P
Plate everything together, let mini motzarellas have fun.
Not an ad – but a story about my favorite EVOO – a gift from my friend the other day.
Her father runs several businesses, including olive oil distribution – and what I love about this bottle is that he keeps one of the EVOO brand label with the photo of his children in their younger days✨
I like how my friend seems both happy and a bit embarrassed when I stare at this picture and compare to her now.
Maybe she’s more grown up, but the same warm smile! I love it (and it tastes so wonderful)! All good wishes…✨
Other random pics sharing my daily life:
-Miso soup: I am enjoying with all sorts of ingredients like tomato, turnips,etc- but myoga (red spiky Japanese herb) on top makes such a difference!
-Tsukemono (Japanese pickles) from Tsukiji- how delicious…
-Fish: Seafood in Japan is just so fresh & delicious, raw and cooked.
