Glazed lemon sugar icing, Lavender Cookies…✨
Oh, dear Doreen-san @foodmood_le , would this be too much of a delayed gratification…?
Last December, when Doreen-san visited Singapore – she kindly secured time to have a bowl of laksa with me at some hawker center, with wonderful & kind gifts from Leipzig🇩🇪✨
I had them in my mind, always… and now back in my kitchen (with the endive adventures), some focus time⌛✨
Now back in my kitchen, hope to challenge some more lavender recipes..✨
If you know me for a while- I rarely bake – so this is a big deal😇🔥
After doing some studies in the books, for basic dough, I found a pretty photo by @cakenknife on google- “grandma’s lavender cookies”.
So I decided to add some icing & lavenders after the bake. I diluted the sugar with lemon juice, and topped them on cookies while they were warm.
The result- perfect marriage with subtle & aromatic lavender, and a bit tangy sourness from lemon juice ✨
Originally so-crisp cookie (3mm thin) did not get too soft- and it tasted so well!!
Maybe for the next time – so that lavenders will not fall apart, I will make sure to mix them directly in the diluted sugar!
So excited for the next adventure, Doreen-san… (I have savory recipes stocked & in mind🥰)✨

昨年末、シンガポールでお会いする機会を頂いた、ドイツの方からのお土産の、ドライラベンダー✨✨
どのようにいただくかわくわくしながら、日本への帰省やパリ滞在&エンダイブチャレンジを挟んで、満を持しての✨
まずは、ベイクにチャレンジ。
最近ずっとクッキーがいただきたかったのです。
昨年末からバイブルな、藤野貴子さん ( @taquako41 )の「お菓子のきほん」を参考にクッキー生地を用意。
その後焼き上がり温かいうちに、粉砂糖&レモン果汁のアイシングをかけ、ラベンダーをトッピング。
一晩経って、もともとパリッと!な3mmの厚みのクッキー生地だったこともあり、あまりしっとりしすぎず&レモンと粉砂糖の甘酸っぱさ&ラベンダーの香りとで、とても素敵な味わいでした。
※冷めて、ラベンダーがあまりにぽろぽろ落ちてしまうので、アイシングと混ぜたほうが良かったのかもしれませんが、それでも風味はしっかり✨
