Nigiri sushi, with fresh seafood✨
Prepare sushi rice (vinegar, sugar, and a bit of salt), make it into small oval sized rounds, and place ingredients on top…

How’s:

  1. Mix rice vinegar & sugar and fine salt. I would say for 1 cup of rice = 1-1.5 Tablespoons of rice vinegar & sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt – and adjust to match your likings. Don’t worry if they don’t dissolve.
  2. Pour 2 on hot cooked rice, and mix dynamically. But be careful not to mix too much – it will be sticky. The key is to cool the surface of rice until steam disappears. Then, turn over the rice, and fan again… YUM!
  3. Wet your hands (or else, rice will be all over!), shape the rice into small oval pieces. I would say around 20g of rice for each pieces.
  4. Put some wasabi on rice, and top with ingredients.

本日は、日本でのご飯の喜びを、握り寿司で表現です。

初めてほたてを握り、なるほどこういう切り方をするのか、と勉強になりました。
母の家庭菜園からちょこちょこ葉っぱやお花など拝借して、賑やかに。

握り寿司、きっと20グラムちょっとのお米がちょうど良いのかと思いますが、ついつい若干多めに。
ぽってりした大ぶりめなお寿司、先日、和食展で見た江戸時代のお寿司を思い出します😂
