Prepare sushi rice (vinegar, sugar, and a bit of salt), make it into small oval sized rounds, and place ingredients on top…
How’s:
- Mix rice vinegar & sugar and fine salt. I would say for 1 cup of rice = 1-1.5 Tablespoons of rice vinegar & sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt – and adjust to match your likings. Don’t worry if they don’t dissolve.
- Pour 2 on hot cooked rice, and mix dynamically. But be careful not to mix too much – it will be sticky. The key is to cool the surface of rice until steam disappears. Then, turn over the rice, and fan again… YUM!
- Wet your hands (or else, rice will be all over!), shape the rice into small oval pieces. I would say around 20g of rice for each pieces.
- Put some wasabi on rice, and top with ingredients.

本日は、日本でのご飯の喜びを、握り寿司で表現です。
初めてほたてを握り、なるほどこういう切り方をするのか、と勉強になりました。
母の家庭菜園からちょこちょこ葉っぱやお花など拝借して、賑やかに。
握り寿司、きっと20グラムちょっとのお米がちょうど良いのかと思いますが、ついつい若干多めに。
ぽってりした大ぶりめなお寿司、先日、和食展で見た江戸時代のお寿司を思い出します😂
